Skills immigration is a pathway designed to allow skilled and semi-skilled workers with high demand skills for the province to be nominated for permanent residence. This option uses a point-based system where applicant’s skills determine his or her points. Candidates with the highest points are nominated for permanent residence immigration.
Depending on many considerations, some applicants such as graduates who recently graduated from a Canadian university may not need work experience depending on the job offered. Skilled workers from abroad may also have work experience.
In this category, you have to register online for BC PNP and make a paper-based application for permanent residency.
Express Entry is the fastest way for skilled workers to immigrate to British Columbia. This is also a point-based system. Unlike the others, this is entirely an electronic application process. Application for BC nominee program and permanent residency are both done online through a web based form.
Express Entry does not necessarily require you to have work experience. You are however required to meet education and language requirements and other requirements. You must also have some relevance work experiences yourself.
Entrepreneur immigration stream is for high net worth business people who can invest and can actively manage a valid business in British Columbia. This, like the other streams, uses a point-based system. However, they applicant should have required personal and investment funds. This stream also has an option for companies looking to expand their businesses into British Columbia and needs to relocate some of their key employees for permanent residency.
